Fatal West Chicago shooting death of Alejandro Rios and Antonio Delgado – Obituary
A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with the shooting deaths of Alejandro Rios and Antonio Delgado in West Chicago. The suspect faces two counts of first-degree murder in the case, as authorities allege he and an 18-year-old accomplice met the victims on Saturday evening in the 700 block of West Forest Avenue under the pretense of buying THC cartridges.
After entering a vehicle with Rios and Delgado, the two teens allegedly robbed them, which led to a violent struggle. The 17-year-old is accused of shooting both men multiple times before fleeing on foot. Rios and Delgado were pronounced dead at the scene.
The older suspect suffered gunshot wounds during the confrontation and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Both suspects were later arrested and taken into custody.
The 17-year-old suspect appeared in court on Tuesday, where a judge ruled that he would remain in detention until his next hearing scheduled for early December. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old remains hospitalized and will face court at a later time.
