Fatal Clifton industrial accident death of Jose D. Centeno – Obituary
Jose D. Centeno, a 73-year-old resident of Elizabeth, tragically passed away following a workplace accident on Tuesday afternoon in Clifton, New Jersey.
Emergency calls reported that Centeno was critically injured by machinery at Ricova Recycling’s facility on 1 Broad Street at approximately 3:28 p.m. Responding first responders from Clifton confirmed Centeno’s death upon arrival at the scene.
Authorities have determined the incident to be accidental, according to Lieutenant Robert Anderson of the Clifton Police Department.
The cause of the fatal machinery accident is currently under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Clifton Police Department. OSHA is expected to complete its investigation and release its findings within six months.
