Fatal Fargo shooting death of Peter Greco – Obituary
A 65-year-old man, Peter Greco, was shot and killed by Fargo police on Wednesday after a confrontation at his home near the 6100 block of 61st Avenue South. Police were called to the scene around 11 a.m. to assist with a suicidal subject who was reportedly armed. Officers Sgt. Lucas Mock and Officer Princeten Harris arrived to find Greco inside the home with a handgun, and despite efforts to de-escalate the situation, Greco exited the house holding the weapon, which led the officers to open fire.
Greco was pronounced dead at the scene. Sgt. Mock, an eight-year veteran of the department, now supervises the Neighborhood Services Division’s day shift, while Officer Harris, who has been with the department for ten months, had recently graduated from the Fargo Police Academy. Both officers have been placed on paid administrative leave as the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation looks into the incident.
