A tragic crash in Johnson County on Saturday, November 16, 2024, claimed the life of 17-year-old Kaden Blair. According to the Iowa State Patrol, Blair, a former student at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School and a University of Iowa pre-medical student, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Azera when it left the road around 12:30 a.m. on I-380 Southbound, near mile marker 5. The vehicle struck a concrete barrier and caught fire, and Blair was ejected from the car. Despite efforts from first responders, Blair was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Blair was remembered by his high school community, with a GoFundMe established to support his family during this difficult time.
