Jerome Scholz dies in fatal Irving motorcycle crash

Fatal Irving motorcycle crash death of Jerome Scholz – Obituary

A tragic motorcycle crash on Friday resulted in the death of an off-duty Irving police officer, Jerome Scholz, aged 38. Scholz, a five-year veteran of the Irving Police Department and a U.S. Army veteran, was involved in the collision in the 7800 block of Valley View Lane near Interstate Highway 635.

Officers responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash at approximately 4:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they identified Scholz and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead around 5:30 p.m.

Preliminary investigations suggest that another driver failed to yield the right of way while turning, though the incident is still under investigation by authorities.
