Buffie Barker dies in fatal Loudon County seven-vehicle crash
Fatal Loudon County seven-vehicle crash death of Buffie Barker – Obituary
Buffie Barker, 50, tragically died in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday evening on the bridge over the Tennessee River in Loudon County. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5 p.m. near Mile Marker 74 on Interstate 75 when one vehicle, slowing for traffic, was rear-ended, triggering a chain reaction involving five more cars.
The seventh vehicle went airborne over a retaining wall and plunged into the river. Emergency personnel worked through the night to recover the submerged vehicle.
Barker, the driver of the car that went into the river, was confirmed dead after the crash. Three others were injured in the pileup. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
