An 81-year-old woman, Carol James, has tragically passed away after being found with severe injuries at her home in Bexleyheath, London, on Friday morning. Police responded to a call made at 8:22 a.m. on November 15 concerning concerns for her safety at a residence on Dunwich Road. Upon arrival, officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service found James, who was later confirmed dead at the scene.
Her family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers. An 81-year-old man, Brian James, was arrested at the location on suspicion of murder. He has now been formally charged with the crime and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on November 20.
