Charles “Lucky” Sydenstricker dies in fatal Walton County, Florida hit-and-run
Fatal Walton County, Florida hit-and-run death of Charles “Lucky” Sydenstricker – Obituary
A 74-year-old man, Charles “Lucky” Sydenstricker, tragically lost his life Sunday afternoon in a hit-and-run incident while walking on Nowling Road in DeFuniak Springs. The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. as Sydenstricker was on the street where he lived. A Good Samaritan discovered him after he had been struck, and deputies arrived to find him still fighting for his life. Unfortunately, despite life-saving efforts by Walton County Fire Rescue, Sydenstricker was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation, but as of now, no leads have been identified regarding the vehicle involved in the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to help provide answers for Sydenstricker’s family.
