U.S. Army Pvt. Davin Deshun Bostock, 20, tragically died in a car crash early Sunday morning on Twin Creek Drive in Killeen, Texas. The incident occurred following a brief police pursuit that began after an altercation involving weapons outside Spadez Nightclub on East Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
Authorities reported that Bostock fled the scene in a red 2017 Chevrolet Camaro around 4:53 a.m. During the chase, his vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a utility pole, and vaulted over railroad tracks on the 100 block of S Twin Creek Drive. Bostock, a fire control specialist with the 3rd Field Artillery Battalion, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fort Cavazos officials shared their condolences in a statement, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of Pvt. Bostock. Leaders of his unit are supporting his family and friends during this difficult time.
Bostock, who joined the Army earlier this year, had already been recognized with the Army Achievement Medal for his exemplary performance.
Killeen police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
