The Miami community is mourning the tragic loss of Anjali Persaud, who was fatally struck by a privately owned school bus on November 20, 2024. The incident occurred at the intersection of SW 109th Avenue and SW 3rd Street around 8:25 a.m.
According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, Persaud was severely injured and received immediate medical attention. She was transported to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue but succumbed to her injuries. The bus driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation.
Preliminary reports suggest the school bus was traveling east on SW 3rd Street when it struck Persaud shortly after crossing SW 109th Avenue. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine the exact cause.
