Fatal Willington car crash death of Gennesse Alicea – Obituary

A two-vehicle collision on Interstate 84 near exit 71 in Willington claimed the life of 39-year-old Gennesse Alicea of Southbury, Massachusetts, according to Connecticut State Police.

 

The crash, which occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, involved a Hyundai Elantra traveling in the right lane. Police report that the Hyundai attempted to shift into the center lane when it collided with the rear driver’s side bumper of a UPS truck also traveling in the right lane. The impact caused the Hyundai to spin into the center lane and eventually come to a stop.

 

Alicea, the sole passenger in the Hyundai, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Hyundai reported possible injuries, while the UPS truck driver was unharmed.

 

Authorities are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Individuals with details are encouraged to contact Trooper Honeywell at the Troop C Barracks.
