Fatal Central City shooting death of Alvin Hammond – Obituary
Early Tuesday morning, 53-year-old Alvin Hammond was fatally shot in Central City. Police were alerted to the incident shortly after 4:10 a.m. and arrived at the 3200 block of Loyola Avenue, where they discovered Hammond with at least one gunshot wound.
Paramedics responded to the scene but were unable to save Hammond, and he was pronounced dead on-site. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation.
