A tragic incident occurred in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, on October 30, when Walter Henderson IV, a Loomis employee, was fatally shot during an armored truck robbery at the Prescriptions Plus Pharmacy. Henderson, 29, had been servicing an ATM at the pharmacy on East King Street when he was shot and killed. Authorities responded to the scene, initially identifying the victim and later confirming his death.
In the aftermath, police identified a black Jeep Compass as a suspect vehicle, which they believed fled the scene shortly after the shooting. Investigators found that Henderson was carrying a firearm, but it remains unclear whether he had drawn it before being shot. At the time of his death, he was alone while working.
In the weeks that followed, Kings Mountain Police made arrests in connection to the robbery and murder. Four individuals were taken into custody: Dominick Anthony Singleton, Jamal Delkeis Cunningham, Melek Isaiah Thomas, and Damareon Laron Dockery. Police Chief Gerald Childress commented on the arrests, expressing that the family of the victim found some relief, especially after the arrest of the suspects, which seemed to restore a sense of hope.
The investigation into the crime continues as officials work to determine who actually fired the fatal shot.
