David P. Butcher dies in fatal Wood County car crash
Fatal Wood County car crash death of David P. Butcher – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man who lost his life in a tragic head-on collision on Staunton Turnpike Thursday evening. The crash occurred around 7:08 p.m. when a 2010 Ford Escape driven by David P. Butcher collided with a 1978 Ford Bronco. The Bronco had veered left of center in the 1700 block of Staunton Turnpike. Unfortunately, David P. Butcher was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Bronco, Ernest Vandal, and his passenger, Tammy Vandal, were both injured in the crash. They were taken to WVU Medicine Camden Clark for medical treatment.
As a result of the accident, Staunton Turnpike was closed for approximately two hours near Leachtown and Hollow Lane roads.
