Fatal Murray shooting death of Panoum Jangjuol – Obituary
A second individual has been arrested in connection to the deadly shooting in Murray that occurred on Thursday, Nov. 21. Jackson Baka Issa, aged 24, is facing felony charges, including obstruction of justice and the solicitation or encouragement of an unlawful firearm transaction, which is a third-degree felony.
The incident unfolded when police in Murray responded to a report of gunfire at 4460 S. Fairbourne Ave. Witnesses at the scene identified three men involved: 22-year-old Pirawn Mula, Issa, and another male known by the street name “Jafari.” The group confronted the victim, Panoum Jangjuol, leading to a confrontation between Jangjuol and Mula. This altercation ended with Mula shooting Jangjuol in the head, resulting in his death shortly after at the scene.
Following the shooting, Mula, Issa, and the unidentified male fled the area before law enforcement arrived. Mula was taken into custody on Nov. 22, and Issa was located by police on Nov. 25. During his arrest, Issa was found with a 40-caliber handgun, which was seized for forensic analysis. Authorities also discovered that Issa was on probation and had violated its terms by failing to report to his probation officer.
Issa is now held at the Salt Lake County Jail, facing the charges, with law enforcement seeking continued detention, citing his potential involvement as a witness to the homicide and as a fugitive from justice.
The charges against Issa are still under investigation, and all arrested individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
