Fatal Henrico County train collision death of Marcell Eugene Morse – Obituary
Marcell Eugene Morse, 59, was killed after being struck by a train at a railroad crossing in Henrico County on Sunday, November 24.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the crossing on Hungary Road near Oakview Avenue. Upon arrival, emergency responders found Morse suffering from severe trauma and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Initial investigations suggest that Morse was riding his bicycle across the tracks while the crossing arms were lowered. He reportedly lost his balance, causing him to fall onto the tracks and be struck by the train. A companion who was with him managed to cross the tracks safely on foot.
