Fatal Rochester shooting death of Demetrious Antonio Tankhamvang – Obituary
Demetrious Antonio Tankhamvang, 28, lost his life in a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning, November 30, at a residence on the 4100 block of Manor Woods Drive Northwest in Rochester, Minnesota. Authorities reported that emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but Tankhamvang was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Rochester Police Department (RPD), a man at the home contacted 911, stating he had shot someone who had entered the residence and assaulted him. This individual was detained, questioned, and later released. RPD noted that the two men were acquainted.
No additional injuries were reported, and authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The investigation remains active, with further details to be released as they become available.
This shooting marks the third such incident under investigation by RPD in less than two weeks. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Tankhamvang’s family.
