Teen arrested for illegal firearms manufacturing
A 17-year-old male from the Camarillo area has been arrested on suspicion of manufacturing illegal firearms after a lengthy investigation by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began when packages containing unserialized, counterfeit firearm parts were intercepted by Homeland Security Investigations.
The packages were addressed to the teen at a residence in the Santa Rosa Valley, where the parts, including components for pistols and fully automatic rifles, were believed to have been ordered online. A search of the residence on November 27 revealed multiple firearms, including ghost guns, and about 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
The teen and another 17-year-old male were arrested, and a 45-year-old relative of the suspect was also linked to the firearms and booked on related charges. The teen is facing multiple felony firearms violations.
