Fatal Poolesville, MD house fire death of Helen White – Obituary

Helen White, a woman in her 60s, tragically passed away in a house fire that broke out early Tuesday morning in Poolesville, Montgomery County. Fire crews responded to the fire at a residence on Whites Ferry Road around midnight, and upon entering the home, discovered White’s body inside.

Although the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the damage to the home is estimated at around $300,000. White was known for her deep love of animals, having worked with local rescue groups and cared for many pets over the years.

Neighbors described her as a kind and generous woman, recalling her thoughtful acts, such as bringing homemade rosemary shortbread to a friend and always giving flowers on birthdays. She will be remembered for her big heart and the care she showed to both animals and people.
