Fatal Bedminster, PA crash death of Jerry Lapat and Deborah Yacovella – Obituary
The tragic deaths of Jerry Lapat, 75, and his wife Deborah Yacovella, 79, of Upper Black Eddy, were confirmed by the Bucks County Coroner’s Office following a fiery crash on November 15. The couple’s Tesla left the roadway on Route 611 in Bedminster Township, striking an unoccupied parked vehicle before catching fire.
The resulting blaze was so intense that DNA testing and dental records were used to identify the victims. The crash also caused damage to a nearby building. Police extended their condolences to the families, and friends will honor the couple during a memorial luncheon on December 6 at the Joseph Ambler Inn.
Both Lapat and Yacovella were active supporters of environmental causes and community organizations. Memorial donations are encouraged for the Bucks County SPCA or animal shelters in their memory.
