Fatal Marshall County crash death of Matthew Persich – Obituary

Matthew Persich, 37, from Granville, Illinois, was identified as the victim of a fatal crash on Tuesday night. According to the Marshall County Coroner, Persich was driving a Lincoln MKZ south on Interstate 39 when he lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and entered the median near mile marker 39, approximately two miles south of the Illinois Route 18 exit. The crash occurred around 11:42 p.m., and Persich was pronounced dead at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. A passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized, though their condition has not been disclosed. The Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
