Jose Alberto Ferragut, 23, of Scott County, was killed in a tragic wrong-way crash in Jackson, Mississippi, early Friday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. on December 6, 2024, on Interstate 55 near Daniel Lake Boulevard. Police reported that Ferragut, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, collided head-on with another vehicle. The car involved was driven by Henri Antonio Mazariegos Perez, 30, with passengers Angelita Avendano, 34, Ezekial Perez, 6, Francisco Lopez, 18, and Juana Alonzo, 18, all from Copiah County.
All six individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. Jackson police expressed their condolences, offering thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims. The crash remains under investigation by authorities.
