Fatal Mobile mass shooting death of Dante Desantis – Obituary

Dante Desantis, 31, was tragically killed in a mass shooting that occurred during a bonfire party behind a business in Mobile on Friday, December 6, 2024. The shooting also left six juveniles injured, with the youngest victim being just 13 years old. The incident took place around 10:47 p.m. near Bellingrath and Laurendine Road.

 

Witnesses reported that around 100 people were present at the party when gunmen fired shots from their vehicle as they drove away. Four of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals by private vehicles, while two others were transported by ambulance. The Mobile Police Department is continuing their investigation, and the findings will be shared with the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.

 

This tragic event adds to the rising number of mass shootings in the U.S., with the Gun Violence Archive listing this incident as one of 476 mass shootings in 2024.
