Malachi Lancaster dies in fatal Newberry hunting accident

Fatal Newberry hunting accident death of Malachi Lancaster – Obituary.

Eighteen-year-old Malachi Lancaster, a senior at Newberry High School, tragically lost his life on Sunday after a hunting mishap led to the accidental discharge of a firearm.

The incident occurred in Alachua County, near Williston Road, south of Gainesville. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers arrived on the scene around 6:14 p.m. after receiving reports of the accident involving a minor.

Emergency responders transported Lancaster to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
