Fatal Mundelein shooting death of Luis Moreno – Obituary

A shooting in the parking lot of the Lake Plaza shopping center in Mundelein on Monday evening resulted in the death of 21-year-old Luis Moreno from Wheeling. The incident occurred around 7:10 p.m. when police responded to reports of shots fired at the 700 block of South Lake Street.

 

Moreno was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds despite efforts from hospital staff to save him. Police believe the shooting was targeted and likely carried out by a single gunman. Investigators from the Lake County Major Crime Task Force and Mundelein police detectives are continuing their investigation into the homicide.
