Fatal Oakland County drowning death of Joselito Estonilo Garcia – Obituary
A 61-year-old man from Waterford Township, Joselito Estonilo Garcia, tragically drowned in Maceday Lake on Monday night. Authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a person in distress, and Garcia was found unresponsive beneath a dock just before 10 p.m. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on Tuesday.
Deputies believe alcohol may have contributed to the drowning, which marks the 13th such incident in Oakland County this year. Despite further search efforts in the lake, no other individuals were located. Dive teams from neighboring areas assisted in the recovery efforts. Sheriff Michael Bouchard has urged the public to exercise caution around water.
