Fatal Macomb Township crash death of Vanessa Marie Savitsky – Obituary.
Vanessa Marie Savitsky, a 45-year-old resident of Shelby Township, tragically lost her life in a head-on collision Monday evening in Macomb Township, Michigan.
The crash occurred around 7:27 p.m. near Hayes Road and Snowbird Drive. According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, a 17-year-old driver in a white Dodge Ram veered left across the center turn lane into oncoming traffic, colliding with Savitsky’s white Mazda. The impact caused the Mazda to roll multiple times, coming to rest upside-down on the grass along northbound Hayes Road.
Savitsky was pronounced dead at the scene. The teenage driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later discharged. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles at the time of the accident.
Authorities have stated that alcohol is not suspected as a factor, but the investigation remains ongoing. A section of Hayes Road was closed for hours Monday night as investigators examined the scene.
