Fatal Oxon Hill hit-and-run crash death of Venessa Stewart-Ferguson – Obituary

Venessa Stewart-Ferguson, 27, of no fixed address, was fatally struck in a hit-and-run incident early Wednesday morning, December 11, in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

 

The Prince George’s County Police Department reported that the crash occurred shortly after 6 a.m. near Saint Barnabas Road and the Capital Beltway. Officers arrived to find Stewart-Ferguson lying in the roadway, where she was pronounced dead.

 

Preliminary investigations indicated that a driver hit Stewart-Ferguson while she was walking in the westbound lanes of Saint Barnabas Road and then fled the scene. Detectives later located both the driver and the vehicle involved.

 

As of Friday, it remains unclear if any charges have been filed. Police continue to investigate the incident.
