Fatal Michoacán shooting deaths of Gloria Ambriz and Rafael Cardona – Obituary
Gloria Ambriz, 50, and Rafael Cardona, 53, were tragically killed in a shooting on Wednesday night in Angamacutiro, Michoacán, Mexico.
Authorities discovered the couple inside a 2016 Ford Platinum pickup truck while responding to reports of gunfire. Ambriz was pronounced dead at the scene, and Cardona passed away shortly afterward at a local hospital.
The Michoacán attorney general’s office identified the victims as relatives of Hermes Pacheco, the mayor of Angamacutiro, with Cardona being the brother of the mayor’s wife. The couple, who lived in California, owned a home in Angamacutiro, and the attack occurred near their residence.
Investigators have gathered ballistic evidence, but no motive for the double homicide has been disclosed. The case remains under investigation.
The Angamacutiro government expressed condolences to the victims’ family. Their bodies have been returned to their loved ones in Angamacutiro for burial.
