Crystal Coggins, 47, from Greenville, tragically lost her life on Friday morning in a deadly crash involving a school bus in Travelers Rest. The accident occurred on Geer Highway near Rock Quarry Road around 8 a.m. when the bus, traveling south, collided with a rollback tow truck. After the initial impact, the bus crossed the center line and struck Coggins’ SUV head-on.
At the time of the crash, four students from Travelers Rest High School were on the bus, but fortunately, they and the bus driver were unharmed. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office is investigating the incident, which marks the third school bus crash reported in the Upstate region this week.
