Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early on the morning of December 13, 2024, which left 66-year-old Gilmore Couvillion dead. The incident took place on La. 75, just east of Crochet Road, shortly after 6 a.m. Couvillion was walking west along the highway when he attempted to cross the road. He walked directly into the path of an oncoming car traveling in the same direction, which struck him. Despite being transported to a hospital, Couvillion was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details as they continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
