The deadly crash occurred around 10:25 p.m. at Castro Lane and Mission Boulevard. Fremont police reported that no other vehicles were involved in the incident, and both individuals in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Amit Kumar Singh from Fremont, was killed along with his passenger, a woman whose name has not been released. Authorities say the crash happened as Singh was speeding eastbound on Driscoll Road toward Mission Boulevard when he lost control of his car. The vehicle struck a tree before crashing into a nearby residence.
Investigators have not yet determined the exact cause of the crash, but excessive speed is believed to have played a significant role. This marks the 14th fatal traffic collision in Fremont this year, with a combination of incidents occurring on city streets, state routes, and private property.
