Fatal High Point parking lot crash death of Gerard O. Lyons – Obituary
On the morning of Friday, December 13, 2024, Gerard O. Lyons, 28, from Greensboro, tragically lost his life in a fatal collision at a warehouse parking lot on Pegg Road. The incident took place at approximately 5:25 a.m. in the 700 block of Pegg Road, where Lyons was struck by a box truck. Despite efforts to save him, Lyons was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, 27-year-old Andrew D. Rodgers, also of Greensboro, was behind the wheel of the truck, which had a frost-covered windshield at the time of the accident. Rodgers has been arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run and careless and reckless driving. He is currently being held at the Guilford County Detention Center with a bond set at $10,000. This marks the seventh traffic fatality in High Point this year.
