Fatal Inver Grove Heights crash death of Willard Pohl – Obituary.
Willard Pohl, 74, lost his life in a crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 52 in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, during snowy and icy conditions.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. Pohl was driving a pickup truck up an entrance ramp from Concord Boulevard to northbound Highway 52. At the top of the ramp, he lost control of his vehicle, which then crossed traffic lanes and collided with a northbound car.
Pohl’s truck came to a stop on the left shoulder of the highway, while the other vehicle stopped in the left lane. Sadly, Pohl did not survive the crash. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
All six occupants of the second vehicle involved were unharmed. Law enforcement emphasized that wintry road conditions were a factor in the accident.
