Alexis Colon dies in fatal Hartford shooting
Fatal Hartford shooting death of Alexis Colon – Obituary.
A man in his 30s, identified as Alexis Colon of Hartford, has succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting on Thursday night.
Hartford police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and reports of gunfire around 9:10 p.m. in the 700 block of New Britain Avenue. Officers discovered Colon unresponsive on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound and immediately began CPR. He was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition but passed away on Saturday, as confirmed by police on Sunday.
Investigators believe Colon knew the person responsible for the shooting. Surveillance footage from the area captured a clear altercation between the two individuals before the gunfire. Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department stated, “These two individuals clearly knew each other. This was a personal dispute.”
Authorities are continuing to investigate and have spoken with witnesses to gather more details.
