Fatal northwest Atlanta house fire death of Mamie Farley – Obituary.

Mamie Farley lost her life in a devastating fire that engulfed her home in northwest Atlanta early Sunday morning. The fire broke out just before 12:30 a.m. at a residence on the 1100 block of 7th Street, located in the Carey Park neighborhood between Hightower Road and James Jackson Parkway.

Farley was rescued from the one-story home by firefighters and initially had a pulse when pulled from the blaze. She was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

Firefighters battled the intense flames until 7 a.m., leaving one side of the home reduced to a charred frame. Smoke continued to rise from the ruins throughout the morning as investigators worked to determine the cause of the fire.

Authorities have not yet released additional details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
