Fatal Boyle Heights shooting death of Jason Ramirez – Obituary
A 19-year-old man was fatally shot in Boyle Heights early Wednesday morning, prompting a police investigation that led to an arrest. The victim, identified as Jason Ramirez, was found inside a vehicle by officers after they responded to a shooting at the intersection of Sixth Street and Grande Vista Avenue at around 12:20 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
According to LAPD Officer J. Nelson, officers observed a 17-year-old boy walking away from the scene and attempted to approach him. The suspect fled on foot and discarded an object, which led to his arrest. The suspect’s identity has not been released.
