Fatal Capitol Heights shooting death of Rakib Rakib – Obituary
The Prince George’s County Police have charged Geonte McNeil-Williams, 25, of Upper Marlboro, for the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Rakib Rakib from Temple Hills. The shooting took place outside a business on Walker Mill Road in Capitol Heights on December 18, 2024, around 3:00 pm.
Officers arrived at the scene to find Rakib suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts, he was declared dead at the location. Preliminary investigations revealed that Rakib, an employee of a nearby convenience store, was taking out the trash when he encountered McNeil-Williams. McNeil-Williams allegedly demanded his belongings and shot him, with no prior connection between the two.
After investigating, detectives were able to identify McNeil-Williams and secure an arrest warrant. He was apprehended the morning of December 19, 2024. McNeil-Williams faces charges of first- and second-degree murder, along with additional related charges. He is currently being held at the Department of Corrections.
