Fatal Carson City deputy-involved shooting death of Michael Bright – Obituary
Michael Bright, 64, of Carson City, tragically died in a shooting involving Carson City Sheriff’s deputies on New Year’s Eve. Deputies were initially responding to a domestic dispute on Clear Creek Road. After the suspect, Bright, threatened law enforcement and returned to the scene just before midnight, gunfire was exchanged. Bright barricaded himself in his truck before exiting with a handgun, leading to a second shootout in which he was fatally shot.
There were no injuries to law enforcement officers, but five deputies and two sergeants have been placed on administrative leave. Nevada State Police are investigating the incident.
