Fatal Vermillion County shooting death of Garrett Reynolds – Obituary

Garrett Reynolds, 30, was tragically killed in a domestic-related shooting on the evening of January 5, 2025, near Perrysville, Indiana.

Indiana State Police reported that Vermillion County Deputies responded to a 911 call around 5:00 p.m. regarding a shooting at a residence in the 8000 block of Meridian Road.

Upon entering the home, officers discovered Reynolds deceased and a 27-year-old woman, identified as Tylan Leonard, suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Deputies immediately administered first aid, and Leonard was rushed to an Illinois hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Authorities suspect the incident was the result of a domestic disturbance. An autopsy for Reynolds has been scheduled, and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives from the Indiana State Police Putnamville Post, along with the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department and Coroner’s Office, are working together on the case.

Upon conclusion of the investigation, a full report will be submitted to the Vermillion County Prosecutor’s Office.
