A fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Corpus Christi on Sunday, January 5, 2025, when 71-year-old Juan Flores was struck by a truck while walking near the intersection of Sabinas and Baldwin on the city’s Westside.
According to the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD), the truck was traveling west while Flores was walking north at approximately 6:35 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not found to be under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
Flores was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The accident investigation is ongoing.
Authorities remind the public to use crosswalks when crossing streets, particularly in areas with low lighting.
