Alexis Vega dies in fatal Kanawha County car crash

Fatal Kanawha County car crash death of Alexis Vega – Obituary

Alexis Vega, 25, from Cleveland, Ohio, tragically lost her life after a crash on Sunday on the West Virginia Turnpike near mile marker 87 in the Chesapeake area, according to the West Virginia State Police.

Authorities report that Vega’s vehicle struck a concrete median barrier in the southbound lanes of I-77/I-64, leaving her car positioned sideways across both lanes of traffic. After exiting her vehicle and walking on the roadway, a passing motorist stopped to assist her.

Unfortunately, a tractor-trailer traveling south was unable to stop in time, colliding with the stopped vehicle and hitting Vega. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
