Fatal Yellowknife death of Lance Beaulieu – Obituary

The body of Lance Beaulieu, who had been reported missing from Yellowknife since Friday, was found Monday evening near the Ingraham Trail, several kilometres outside the city.

A ground search party discovered Beaulieu’s remains around 6 p.m. Authorities, including RCMP and the chief coroner, responded to the scene and confirmed his identity.

In a statement, Cst. Josh Seaward expressed condolences to Beaulieu’s family, thanking all who participated in the search for their dedication. Beaulieu was believed by relatives to have last been seen on the Dettah ice road, leading them to organize a search near Great Slave Lake and the Con Mine dock on Monday afternoon.

At this time, police have not indicated whether the circumstances of Beaulieu’s death are considered suspicious. The investigation remains ongoing in cooperation with the territory’s chief coroner.
