Rico Pepito, a 22-year-old construction worker, was tragically shot and killed late Monday night while walking to his girlfriend’s house in Sitio Lower Cavalry, Barangay Apas, Cebu City.
Originally from San Remigio, Cebu, Pepito had been residing in Sitio Rotunda, Barangay Apas.
The attack occurred around 11:30 p.m. when Pepito was walking alone. According to police, the suspect, identified only as “Alfie” from Upper Laguerta, Sitio Tarcum, Barangay Lahug, fired at Pepito. The gunman was reportedly accompanied by two accomplices who provided support during the incident.
Authorities reported that Pepito had no known conflicts with anyone, leaving investigators searching for a possible motive. An active investigation is underway, with law enforcement pursuing the suspect and his accomplices.
The violent death of Pepito has left the community shaken and concerned about the rising incidents of violence in Cebu City. His grieving family is calling for swift justice, hoping for the prompt arrest of those responsible.
