Fatal North Little Rock police shooting death of Jeffery Marchbanks – Obituary

Jeffery Marchbanks, 35, of Savannah, Tennessee, was fatally shot in an officer-involved incident in North Little Rock last month.

Marchbanks had been a fugitive wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service in connection with a shooting and carjacking that occurred on December 7 in Adamsville, Tennessee.

 

According to the Adamsville Police Department, Marchbanks was accused of shooting an employee of the Sawmeal Restaurant and Steakhouse during a vehicle theft in the restaurant’s parking lot.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body and was airlifted to a medical facility for treatment. Following the incident, police issued multiple arrest warrants for Marchbanks on charges including carjacking and conspiracy to commit attempted first-degree murder.

 

Authorities, including the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Marshals Service, tracked Marchbanks after he fled Tennessee.

With assistance from the Arkansas State Police and Little Rock Police Department, they located him in North Little Rock, where the fatal confrontation occurred.

 

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing as officials review the incident.
