Fatal Brownsville boat crash death of Diana Klankowski and Kevin Hanson – Obituary
Diana Klankowski, 56, of Spring Grove, and Kevin Hanson, 47, of Mabel, Minn., lost their lives when the 32-foot boat they were aboard crashed into a navigational marker on the Mississippi River south of Brownsville, Minn., on Saturday evening, around 6 p.m.
Two other passengers, Sonya Burnikel, 47, of Spring Grove, and Wynn Ristau, 41, of Preston, were injured in the crash. Burnikel is currently hospitalized at Gundersen Health System, while Ristau has been treated and released.
The boat, a 10-passenger craft, struck the day marker across from Wildcat Campground and boat landing, leading to the tragic deaths and injuries.
