Mallory Humphreys, a 24-year-old resident of Taunton, lost her life early Sunday morning in a tragic collision involving the vehicle she was a passenger in and a tractor-trailer on Route 44. The crash occurred around 1:24 a.m., according to information from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
Humphreys was traveling in a gray 2015 Infiniti driven eastbound by a 27-year-old man from Fall River. The collision took place near 608 Winthrop Street.
The driver of the Infiniti, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Meanwhile, the 39-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer, a Brockton resident, was unharmed.
Emergency responders pronounced Humphreys deceased at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
