Fatal Peach Bottom Township car crash death of Jason Byczynski – Obituary

Jason Byczynski, a 40-year-old resident of Peach Bottom Township, was identified as the victim of a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning, January 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police and the York County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred as Byczynski was driving north on Meadow Trail Road near his home. His pickup truck veered off course, struck a stone pillar, crossed the road, hit a mailbox, and eventually crashed into a telephone pole.

He was declared dead at the scene at 9:05 a.m. While an autopsy has been performed, the official cause and manner of death are pending further examination.

Byczynski, described as a devoted father to his four daughters—Julia, Katie, Emilee, and Aimee—was reportedly heading to work when the crash occurred just a short distance from his residence.

His unexpected death has deeply impacted the family and the community. A GoFundMe page organized by family friends Neal and Kerry Smiley has raised over $6,100, far exceeding the initial $2,500 goal.

“Jason wasn’t just our neighbor; he was family,” the fundraiser reads, noting his reputation for always helping others and his signature phrase, “Handled.” The collected funds will be used to support his daughters’ immediate needs and may also help establish savings for their future.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine if a medical condition or other factors played a role in the crash. It is still unclear whether Byczynski was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.

Those who wish to assist the family can contribute through the GoFundMe page.
