Fatal Armstrong County shooting death of Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Moore – Obituary

Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Moore, the proprietor of Ken’s Tree & Debris LLC, lost his life in a tragic shooting in Armstrong County.

Authorities responded to the incident early Wednesday morning at approximately 2:40 a.m. in the 100 block of Shaffer Lane, Washington Township, where two individuals were discovered deceased.

 

Kittanning police quickly apprehended 56-year-old Scott Shaffer, who allegedly admitted to the crime. Investigators revealed that earlier in the evening, Shaffer, Moore, and the other victim had been at Ruby’s Den Burger & Spirits Bar and Grill before heading to Shaffer’s residence.

 

Upon returning home, Shaffer instructed his 18-year-old daughter to remain indoors. When Moore and the other victim arrived, Shaffer reportedly opened fire on both of them. Following the shooting, Shaffer asked his daughter to conceal the weapon, but she instead contacted 911, resulting in his immediate arrest.

 

Police have not officially released the names of either victim, but friends mourning online identified Kenny Moore as one of the deceased. He was remembered fondly by his community.
