The Tennessee Bureau ofj Investigation (TBI) has confirmed the death of 33-year-old Jeffrey Lach Jr. after an encounter with a Shelby County deputy on Tuesday morning.
Deputies had been tracking a stolen vehicle when they attempted to arrest Lach in the 1600 block of North Shelby Oaks Drive.
The situation escalated, leading to the deputy shooting Lach, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The TBI is investigating the incident as per protocol for law enforcement-involved shootings. No deputies were harmed during the confrontation.
